Book Scholarship
Our Book Scholarship has been in inception since 2016. A critical component in achieving this mission is to award scholarships to high school and college students that are active members at the Bethel Methodist Church located in Hopewell, Hanover, Jamaica. Applicants have to complete a 350 word essay explaining why they should be awarded this scholarship. Three applicants are awarded each year.
The scholarship judges are retired educators and active members of Bethel Methodist Church. They care about the future of students and are passionate about education, which is why they volunteer their time to review the applications.
Our goal is to expand this scholarship to other institutions.
Operation Cap & Gown
Operation Cap & Gown has been benefiting students at Houston Community College since 2010. Each year we work closely with the Houston Community College Alumni Association to identify two students in need of a cap and gown for graduation. These gowns are given free of cost to these two students.
In the near future, we will be expanding this project to other schools.
Adopt A Family
Adopt A Family is done through partnership with Houston Community College Alumni Association. They identify single parents who are current students and are in need of assistance. During the Christmas season we sponsor a student and their family for the holiday. The student provide a list of things they need and we purchase the items for them.
